Bellows Falls Opera House Lower Theater
spotlight erelliMulti-instrumental string wizard, expressive vocalist in the vein of John Hiatt, a songwriter both haunting, rough-spun and seriously rockin' out, an obsessive musical collaborator (side projects with Northeast musical luminaries Catie Curtis, the Spurs, Jeffrey Foucault, Rani Arbo and others), and he has a degree in studying bugs. What's not to love? A presentation of Flying Under Radar, LLC and Vermont Festivals,LLC in association with WOOL 100.1 FM and The Rockingham Arts and Museum Project. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Bellows Falls Opera House. Tickets available now at Brattleborotix.com and local outlets.

20th Anniversary Women’s Film Festival
March 9-18, Brattleboro
A benefit for the Women’s Freedom Center
womensfilmfestival.org
spotlights womens film festCelebrated during Women’s History Month, the Women’s Film Festival is the longest-running women’s film festival in New England and one of the oldest in the world devoted to films by and about women. The Festival will screen 26 entertaining and illuminating films that raise awareness of the struggles, accomplishments and creativity of women around the corner and around the globe. “This year’s roster includes more dramatic selections,” says Merry Elder, who heads the film selection committee.

A festival reception and previews of the films will take place during Brattleboro’s monthly Gallery Walk Friday, March 2 from 5:30 to 8p in the Hooker Dunham lobby at 139 Main Street in Brattleboro. The festival is fully volunteer run. One hundred percent of thr proceeds benefit the Women’s Freedom Center (formerly Women’s Crisis Center), a non-profit organization that helps women and children from southern Vermont and surrounding areas protect themselves against domestic violence.
