In Vermont art flourishes year-round. There’s always a good time to learn, practice and perform. Here are a few programs and places to help you learn about classes or workshops in your area.

Vermont Studio Center 80 Pearl St, Johnson vermontstudiocenter.org, 802 635-8548 Ongoing: Lectures by visiting artists and writers take place several times per month at the Vermont Studio Center. See a full schedule at their Web site. Residencies: Two to 12-week studio residencies for 50 artists and writers per month.
Vermont Weaving School 4 Signal Pine Rd., Putney vermontweavingschool.com, 802-387-2656 Begin with ten weekly classes or a three-day retreat, covering the basics of weaving. Advanced beginning program meets monthly, over six months and is designed to develop proficiency while covering a wide range of weaving topics. Additional offerings include bi-monthly ongoing classes and topic retreats with guest teachers. The school is equipped with twenty floor looms and a wide variety of equipment. There are plenty of yarns to choose from…different colors, fibers textures and a complete library of weaving books.
